Why Seek God
Updated: Feb 3
God is always there for us, but when people don't get what they want, when they want it, and doubt or fear sets in, people think, "what if it doesn't work?" When it looks like there is no way out, that's when people walk away from God.
FIRST WE MUST HAVE FAITH
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV): Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV): But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
If people took the time to TRY Jesus, which means starting with simple one on one conversation with Jesus. This is a start in seeking Him. How do you know what you can do, if you don't try. When you try, there are a lot of things that you could find out about yourself, life, and others.
Jeremiah 33:3 (AMP): Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).
Philippians 4:19 (AMP): And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
God did not say that He would supply some or a little bit, but (every) need! So why is it that people don't want to TRY God, when He is telling you that He will give you everything that you need. Not just give it to you, but He would supply it, which means that it keeps on coming. Satan on the other hand makes it easy to serve him, because people can do whatever they want to do, but they don't realize that their is a price to pay.
John 10:10 (AMP): The thief comes ONLY in order to steal and kill and destroy. I come that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Luke 9:24, 25, 26 (AMP): For whoever would preserve his life and save it will loose and destroy it, but whoever loses his life for my sake, he will preserve and save it [from the penalty of eternal death]. For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself? Because whoever is ashamed of me and my teachings, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in the [threefold] glory (the splendor and majesty) of Himself and of the Father and of the holy angels.
A lot of people want to serve God with no sacrifice, but God is crying out to tell us what happens to people that want to serve satan, and also, that He (God) loves us so much! But God is unable and unwilling to make you choose Him, that is your decision, and yours alone. For the people who choose to seek God, the bible says the following:
Matthew 7:7 (AMP): Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV): For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
It is good to make God a part of your life, and to constantly seek Him. If we do not seek Him or Keep our mind on God, then Satan has room to work in your mind. For example: fear, doubt, worry, suicide, feeling lost or alone, but most of all, to take you away from God, or to stop you from reaching him. If you have not seen the movie, "The Passion of Christ," where they beat the skin off of Jesus, spit on Him and nailed Him to the cross. Yes, it sounds gross, but yet Jesus forgave them and had love for them, even after all that mankind had done to him. If Jesus took a beating like that for you, and to cover all of our sins with His spilled blood on the cross, then why not try Jesus for yourself. He loves you beyond what you could ever imagine, even knowing that you don't love Him yet.
Romans 8:37-39 (KJV): Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angles, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
